Dr. Yogesh Patodia
Yogesh Patodia is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with a diverse range of expertise, including cataract surgery, surgical glaucoma, medical retina, and complex anterior segment surgery. With a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for advancing the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Patodia strives to provide exceptional treatment and deliver outstanding outcomes.
Dr. Patodia completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Western Ontario before pursuing his medical education at Ross University School of Medicine. During this time, he was recognized for his exceptional research abilities, winning the award for Best Oral Research Presentation at the University of Western’s Ophthalmology Program and two national awards from the Canadian Ophthalmology Society.
To further refine his skills, Dr. Yogesh Patodia completed a one-year research fellowship in Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at the University of Toronto. Following the fellowship, Dr. Patodia undertook a comprehensive five-year residency at the University of Toronto in ophthalmology. His exceptional dedication and proficiency were acknowledged through several prestigious awards, including the Sunnybrook Champions of Care award on two occasions, the Hurwitz-Vaile Sinai Resident award for excellence in ophthalmic surgery, compassionate patient care, global health advocacy, and mentorship, as well as the MD Program Teaching award for excellence.
During his residency, Dr. Patodia had the privilege of participating in a medical mission trip to Costa Rica, where he provided much-needed anterior segment surgery to an underserved community. This experience reinforced his commitment to improving eye care access and inspired him to make a positive impact on the lives of patients worldwide. Furthermore, Dr. Patodia has also taken on the role of a mentor to numerous medical students aspiring to pursue ophthalmology.
