
Dr. Aditya Salwan
Dr. Aditya Salwan is a highly skilled optometrist with extensive experience in managing complex ocular conditions. He earned his undergraduate degree from Western University and completed his optometry training at Manipal University in India, followed by an internship at L.V.P. Eye Institute in Hyderabad, where he gained clinical experience across various subspecialties, including retina, cornea, glaucoma, pediatrics, oculoplastics, specialty contact lenses, and emergency eye care. He later completed the International Optometry Bridging Program at the University of Waterloo.
Dr. Salwan then joined Clarity Eye Institute in Vaughan, where he managed complex ocular conditions such as glaucoma, retinal and anterior segment pathologies, and dry eye disease. He was also responsible for pre- and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery patients, along with handling emergency cases.
Dr. Salwan currently serves as the Lead LAL Optometrist at Lumea, where he has played a pivotal role in advancing Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) technology in Canada. He holds the distinction of being the first optometrist in Canada to perform LAL adjustments and has been instrumental in establishing the LAL adjustment protocol at Lumea. Under his leadership, Lumea’s team has performed the highest number of LAL adjustments in the country, significantly improving patient outcomes.
Working closely with Dr. Sanghera and Dr. Khan, pioneers of LAL technology in Canada, Dr. Salwan has refined adjustment techniques and optimized treatment customization for patients, ensuring exceptional visual outcomes and high satisfaction rates.
He holds the distinction of being the first optometrist in Canada to perform LAL adjustments and has been instrumental in establishing the LAL adjustment protocol at Lumea. Under his leadership, Lumea’s team has performed the highest number of LAL adjustments in the country, significantly improving patient outcomes.
